This one I did a 3 months ago, it was created for Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity candidates are families living in poverty that are willing to work hard for a better life. A simple small bowl is the perfect piece to compliment the new housing that they build. This was constructed using a slab and a plaster mold I made myself; then fired and glazed. The difference between a typical bowl and the piece that I’ve created is that when you flip the bowl over there is a deep relief of the famous fortune cookie. All around the country, people consume these little cookies that contain messages that are meant to provide hope and inspiration. I decided to put the cookie at the bottom of the bowl because good luck is intended for the family only, and I hope best for the family and their new home.
